A Cup of Energy

Image
You may see a half cup of coffee but I see a half heart of energy! It's Monday morning. The birds are chirping. We have a full day of overcast here. Yesterday my new photography backdrop was delivered. After drinking half of my cup of coffee I felt inspired to play with it. I have been photographing "full time" for a year and a half and have learned many tips and tricks. I wanted to share some of these with you. I photograph everything in manual mode. I personally try to keep my ISO always at 100. Today I had to put my ISO settings at 400 because of the overcast. For my fellow photographers, who also shoot in manual, these are my settings for today's photoshoot; 1/50 f2.8 400 I have recently started mentoring a photography enthusiast and I realized I have so much knowledge! Soon I will share this knowledge with you. In the mean time, here's my morning cup of Joe.

Plant Seeds, Pull Weeds and Grow a Happy Life

Our Easter day began early! Lola had sprinted out of bed at 6:30 a.m. exclaiming that the Easter bunny had arrived. After opening her basket and getting ready in her beautiful Easter dress, we joined the neighbors for a fun Egg Hunt. We had hid over 300 eggs! The yards were filled with bright colors and lots of laughter.  After the fun had faded, I went into the garden getting the flower beds ready for the blooming days ahead. With messy hands and a full heart, I noticed all the small plants sprouting their green. Saying my prayers tonight I thank the Lord for the gift of each new breath of life and the celebration of Jesus' death because today, he has risen!

Counting Our Easter Blessings One Egg at a Time

It's that time of year to celebrate Christ rising. Easter is a very special holiday. It not only celebrates our Lord but it also is the sign of life. The grass is becoming greener, flowers are pushing through the dirt. I just purchased Lola's supply of dresses for the warm months ahead. I hope everyone is enjoying each moment as the colors start to come alive.
